In an education partnership event with Aerospace Learning Xperience (ALEX), Drone America and ALEX hosted an aerospace day for a 6th grade class from St. Albert the Great Elementary School at the ALEX Facility in Stead, Nevada. The event featured flight simulations, hands-on drone flying with Drone America staff in their Aviary drone cage, and one-on-one with Drone America aerospace engineers and ALEX pilots.
Students were also shown and educated on vintage aircraft by ALEX and the future of drone technologies by Drone America.
“It was fantastic having the opportunity to teach the kids about engineering and drones,” said Alyssa Frampton, Mechanical Drafting Engineer for Drone America. “They were all very enthusiastic and seemed to enjoy learning about real-life applications of math, science, and robotics.”
“Getting the kids hands on time with UAS operations and technology is extremely rewarding, especially when you see the kids get excited when they realize they can build their own future in the world of aerospace as pilots, engineers and innovators, said Zack Clark, Integration Specialist for Drone America. “They have fantastic ideas about the future of flight. I am proud to be part of our community education team.”
